Εάν σε κάποιο σημείο υπάρξει αδυναμία πρόσβασης, απαραίτητη είναι η ομαδοποίηση της συνοικίας-περιοχής, ώστε να αξιολογηθεί άμεσα και να φροντίσουμε να επεκτείνουμε την πρόσβαση, κατόπιν σχετικού αιτήματος στην αρμόδια υπηρεσία του Δήμου».
«Τα τελευταία χρόνια η ανάπτυξη της ευρυζωνικότητας και των ασύρματων τεχνολογιών συμβάλλουν στην καλύτερη δυνατή εξυπηρέτηση και επαφή του πολίτη με το ίντερνετ και τις υπηρεσίες που προσφέρει. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, παραδίδουμε προς χρήση το νέο ασύρματο δίκτυο ευρυζωνικής πρόσβασης, χωρίς κόστος και ελεύθερα προσβάσιμο από όλους», αναφέρει ο κ. Αλεξανδρόπουλος. «Με την ολοκλήρωση του έργου, ο Δήμος μας αποκτά την κατάλληλη υποδομή για τη μελλοντική ανάπτυξη καινοτόμων και σύγχρονων υπηρεσιών προς το δημότη», τονίζει στη συνέχεια. «Το δημοτικό ασύρματο δίκτυο Wi-Fi Hotspots προσφέρει στους πολίτες της Νέας Φιγαλείας τη δυνατότητα να πλοηγούνται δωρεάν στο διαδίκτυο, να ανταλλάσσουν αρχεία και να έχουν online επικοινωνία και ελεύθερη πρόσβαση στην ενημέρωση, τις νέες τεχνολογίες και όλες τις προηγμένες ευρυζωνικές υπηρεσίες».
Ο Δήμος Ζαχάρως θα προβεί άμεσα στην εγκατάσταση νέων σημείων Wi-Fi στην περιοχή της Φασκομηλιάς. Το έργο αυτό βρίσκεται στο στάδιο μελέτης και η τοποθέτηση αναμένεται να ξεκινήσει εντός του Δεκεμβρίου του 2022, ώστε οι κάτοικοι της Φασκομηλιάς να έχουν δωρεάν πρόσβαση στο διαδίκτυο στις εορτές. Παράλληλα, ο Δήμος αναζητά προσβάσιμα σημεία και στην περιοχή του Λέπρεου. Η πρόσβαση στο ασύρματο δίκτυο είναι δυνατή από ένα σύνολο συσκευών όπως φορητοί υπολογιστές (laptops), έξυπνες συσκευές χειρός (π.χ. handheld PDAs, τηλέφωνα), ασύρματες κάμερες, οθόνες τηλεπροβολής κ.ά. Για τη σύνδεση χρειάζεται μόνο να βρίσκεστε σε περιοχή εντός εμβέλειας ενός Wi-Fi.
